锂离子电池组
锂离子电池组因为尺寸小，重量轻，现在广泛应用于手持设备。锂离子电池没有所谓的‘记忆效应’（也就是电压衰减），而老一代的电池有这种问题。锂离子电池比镍金属电池组有更高的能量密度，更低的漏电率，从而革命性的提升了手持设备的设计，突破了电源的尺寸，重量和持续时间的限制。阅读其他关于锂离子电池的信息。
锂聚合物电池组
锂聚合物电池组使用和传统电池不同的电解质。早在上世纪七十年代，电池使用干性聚合物电解质。这种电解质用类似薄膜的塑料包装，这些材料不导电，但却进行离子交换（带电离子或离子群）。聚合物电解质取代了传统的能渗透电解质的多孔分离器。阅读其他关于锂聚合物电池的信息。
镍金属电池组
